Unfortunately, the sobering statistics mean that all of us do know women who are fighting, or have fought a breast or gynaecological cancer (ovarian, cervical, uterine, vaginal, vulval and fallopian tube). Tragically, despite amazing medical advances, too many of the women we know diagnosed with these cancer still do not survive them.
Medical research has already made dramatic improvements, and is the only avenue through which we can prevent more of our loved ones from suffering from these often devastating diseases in the future.
The world class dedicated medical researchers at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research (https://www.perkins.org.au) are striving to make pivotal discoveries to reduce the incidence and death from women’s cancer, through:
Established in 2015, we are a group of enthusiastic, passionate and dedicated Perth women who are all motivated to the same cause and volunteer to make a positive impact on fighting to abolish the effects of women’s breast and gynaecological cancers.
We have to date raised more than $125,000 for further research to be made into the cause, detection, treatment and potential cure of these devastating cancers to our women.
All monies raised are donated to the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research for crucial medical research into these aspects of women’s cancers.
A new Centre for Women’s Cancers Research is being created, with a dedicated Professor in Women’s Cancers driving the research of a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and scientists.
This is THE mission of our dedicated and committed team and we invite you to support this cause too.
